Algunos veces podemos bloquear los menus de configuracion del Popcorn Hour C200. Esto tambien es valido para el Popcorn Hour A110, A200, B110, A100, todos los modelos

Para desbloquear/bloquear los menus solamente tienes que pulsar las teclas del mando a distancia :
SET UP + PLAY

Pulsar con el mando a distancia: SETUP + PLAY

Tenemos una nueva versión de firmare para el C200. Muy poquito tiempo desde la ultima. Lo mas llamativo es el nuevo interfaces y sobre todo que los C200 que hacían cosillas “raras” que se apagan después de estar reproduciendo, parece que resucitan. Esto es lo que se ve a simple vista.

Otra novedad es que ya sabemos que adaptador USB Wifi podemos utilizar, yo esperaba en interno pero esto mejor que nada. Por chip que indican, Realtek USB RTL819, pues a buscar uno. Cuando de con el veremos como va, de momento encontré uno pero nada de nada, si alguien sabe algo que hable.

Vamos a configurar la red en el Popcornhour C-200. De momento no hay disponibles adaptadores wifi para este modelo, hacemos la configuracion con cable.

Configuracion en red del Popcorn Hour con IP Automatica
Esta es la forma mas sencilla para la configuracion. Simplemente tienes que tener activado el DCHP en tu router

En el video vemos como se configuran los parametros, desde el menu de configuracion, en red comienza el video. En este caso puedes ver que los datos ya estan puestos, esto es asi ya que han sido puestos con anterioridad y no alargar el video mas de lo necesario, todos sabemos como pulsar los números del mando a distancia para poner la IP, puerta de enlace, mascaca de red, DNS, …, si borrais tener cuidad que el . de las direcciones de red se borra, no olvides poner el punto si lo has borrado.

Aqí pondremos la traducción del artículo.

Hemos decidido publicar una versión beta de un nuevo firmware. Se han incluido las aplicaciones del firmware anterior. Este firmware solo está disponible en este hilo, no esta en la web oficial, de momento.

Descargar el fichero y seguir las instrucciones: 02-01-091007-19-POP-408

Reproducción de BD sin disco duro interno

Formatear un USB Stick (memoria USB) de 2 GB o más a FAT32 o ext3.
Crear directorios “bdj/ada /” y “bdj/buda” (en minúsculas) en la memoria USB
Conectar la memoria USB y automáticamente será montado como PERSISTFS
Ahora puedes reproducir BD’s con BD-J y BD Live
CONSEJO: poner la memoria USB en el puerto interno de la placa para dejar lisbres los externos ya que son mas accesibles.

Configuración de la región de DVD.
IMPORTANTE: esto solo se puede hacer 5 veces en cada instalación (se supone que volviendo a reisntalar el firmware tienes otras 5 veces)

Insertar un DVD de la región que quieres instalar, si no es de la región que quieres instalar esto no funciona.
Ir a la página de configuración.
Presiona la teclas ”Slow, 1, 6, 8, 3″ del mando a distacia.
COMENTARIO: al presionar la tecla Slow sale una pantallita donde ves que puedes escribir, ahi es dondo tienes que poner los numero de arriba 1683 (sin comas)
Ahora aparece una ventana para que pongas el número de la región que quieres.

Configuración de la Region de BD

Entrar en pagina de configuración (no es necesario poner un BlyRay en la unidad lectora de BluRay)
Pulsa ”Slow, 1, 6, 6, 3″ con el mando a distancia (es igual que con el DVD solo cambian los numeros a pulsar, 1663, recuerda que va sin comas)
Aparece una ventana y con el mando a distancia pulsa la región que necesites
1 = Region A
2 = Region B
3 = Region C

Instalar Aplicaciones NMT en Popcorn Hour C-200

Para instalar las aplicaicones NMT tenemos dos opciones, y siempre es necesario tener puesto un disco duro interno

En linea, en este caso debes de asegurarte no tener cortes en la conexión
Desde USB. Recomendamos esta opción ya que es mas segura, esta es la que veremos aquí

Lo primero es bajar los ficheros como indicamos al instalar el firmware, actualizar el firmware y despues comenzamos la instalarción de las aplicaciones.

Una vez bajado el fichero, descomprimido, copiado en el directorio raiz de una memoria USB comenzamos

1-. Ir a configuración, Matenimiento:

Paso 1: Instalación apliaciones NMT

2-. Pinchar en Asistente de Configuración NMT

Paso 2: Asistente de configuración NMT

3-. En este paso si tienes puesto un disco duro sin formatear verás la imagen de abajo, si el disco ya está formatedo te pregunta si quires o no formatear, pero para instalar las aplicaiones tienes que formatear, copia los datos y vuelve a poner el disco duro para formatear.

Paso 3: Instalación Limpia, fomatea el disco duro

4-. Elegir el disco duo, pude tener puesto mas de un disco, aqui puedes elegir cual quieres utilizar

Paso 4: Elija el disco duro

5-. Aviso que comienza el formateo, pulsar siguiente

Paso 5: Pulsar Siguiente

6-. Aquí es donde puedes elegir si la instalacion es en linea o desde USB, nosotros pondremos desde USB y pulsamos siguiente

Paso 6: Elegir instalación por USB y pulsar siguiente

7-. Comienza todo el proceso de instalación

Continua la instalacion de las apliaciones NMT

Finalizada la instalacion de las aplicaciones.

Una vez terminada la instalación se reincia el Popcorn Hour C-200, veremos la pantalla de inicio

Firmware C-200

Cuando tengas en tus mano el Popcorn Hour C200 tienes que actualizar el firmware. Estamos hablando del firmware del 4 de septiembre de 2009, el fabricante recomineda su actualización para todas las unidades del C-200. Puedes hacer la actualización en linea o por USB, mejor esta opcion por si pierdes la conexion y para no tener problemas. Para el caso de actualizar por USB puedes bajar el fichero desde este enlace:

Pinchas en DOWNLOAD para bajar el fichero 02-01-090904-19-POP-408.zip y descomprime el contenido en una memoria USB (mejor en el directorio raiz de la memoria USB).

El contenido del fichero descomprimido es:

- 090729_release_notes.txt: notas para la versión
- 090904_release_notes.txt: notas para la versión
- apps.nmt: aplicaciones NMT

- README.txt: fichero que explica la intalación, lo que vamos a realizar en este artículo, vemos el contenido del fichero

- usbupdate-090904.html: para instala el firmware
- usbupdate-Stepstone.html: para instalar en primer lugar

Una vez en esta situación comenzamos la instalación:

1-. Conectar la memoria USB en el C-200,

Conectamos la memoria USB al C-200

Buscamos el dispositivo USB y pulsamos Enter

vemos el contenido del fichero descomprimido que hemos comenado

2-. Pichar sobre el fichero con el boton Enter del mando a distancia: usbupdate-Stepstone.html
Veras la siguiente pantalla y tienes que pulsar Enter otra vez. Una vez que termine se reinicia el C-200 y vuelves a la pantalla de arriba

Veras la siguiente pantalla y tienes que pulsar Enter otra vez.

El C-200 se reinicia y todo listo. Solamente queda por instalar las apliaciones NMT, para ello desde de tener un disco duro conectado al C-200. En el siguiente video puedes ver la instalacion de este firmware.

En estas pantallas se puede ver, aunque pone 720p-60Hz es para las capturas de la imagenes, la capturadora que tengo enel ordenador solo me deja a 720p-60Hz, las pruebas están realizadas a 1080p.

Conclusión:

Tanto en el Popcorn Hour C-200 como en el Dune HD base 2.0 podemos ver el video sin problemas, completamente fluido y sin tirones. Por supuesto que no se ve pixelado como ocurre en otros reproductores. Por la diferencia de precio yo me decantaría por el Dune HD Base 2.0

Popcorn Hour C-200 con disco duro de 1 Tbyte: 489 €

Hay una diferencia de 150 €, son muchos euros.
